Editorial standards & guidelines

1. We think money content should be better
There’s no shortage of money advice online. The problem is that most of it is confusing and over-complicated — or so generic it falls flat.
We started WalletJump because understanding money shouldn’t feel like you’re doing a puzzle with missing pieces.
2. We’ve been doing this for a while
Our editorial team has spent years creating personal finance content for some of the biggest names in the industry. We've led editorial teams, developed content strategies, and helped shape the way millions of people learn about money online.
3. How we approach our content
Money impacts every part of your life — your stress, your options, your future. And you deserve content that actually helps you navigate that.
That’s why everything we publish is guided by three core principles.
3.1. Clarity
Money is complicated enough without making it harder to understand.
We explain financial topics in plain English, cut through unnecessary jargon, and focus on what actually matters. Whether you're comparing credit cards, trying to improve your credit score, or deciding if a personal loan is the right choice, our job is to help you understand your choices—not overwhelm you.
3.2. Transparency
Trust has to be earned.
Anytime we recommend a product, we'll explain why. If there are drawbacks, we'll tell you those, too. If we wouldn't recommend something to a friend or family member, we won't recommend it to you.
3.3. Practical education
Good financial advice doesn't just tell you what to do — it helps you understand why.
We want every article to leave you feeling more informed than when you arrived. That means providing context and using examples, pointing out the good and the bad, and making sure you have all of the information you need to make an informed decision.
4. How we make money (the quick version)
Yes, we do earn money from some of the products we feature.
But here’s the thing:
- That never determines what we write about
- And it never changes how we review something
If something isn’t worth your time, we’ll say that — even if it means we don’t make a dime.
You can read the full breakdown on our Advertiser Disclosure page.
5. Why you can trust us
We’re not here to overwhelm you or sell you something you don’t need.
We’re here to:
- Give you clear answers
- Help you understand your options
- Make sure you feel confident in the decisions you make
That’s it. If we can check all those boxes for you, we’re doing something right.
